Facial ratios calculator
Proportion is easier to judge as a ratio than by eye. FaceRating measures the three classical bands - upper, middle and lower thirds - the fifths, and your face width-to-height ratio, and reports each one against its reference range.
What this test measures
Your facial thirds
Where your hairline, nose and chin sit against three equal bands, plus your width-to-height ratio and fifths balance.
What the same scan also measures
One scan returns all of these. You do not need a separate tool for each one.
- Facial symmetry
How closely your left and right halves mirror each other, landmark by landmark.
- Facial thirds
Where your hairline, nose and chin fall against three equal bands.
- Golden ratio
How close your proportions track the constant phi (1.618).
- Jaw taper
The width of your jaw measured against your cheekbones.
- Eye spacing
The distance between your eye centres relative to face width.
Questions about this test
What is a good facial ratio?
There is no single ideal. The thirds and fifths are compositional conventions used to judge whether features are evenly distributed, and most faces sit slightly off them. FaceRating shows how far off you are rather than marking you down for it.
Can I measure my own facial ratios at home?
Approximately, with a ruler on a straight-on photo - but by hand you cannot map 478 landmarks consistently. The AI measures the same conventions at once and reports the deviations numerically.
