Face age test

Perceived age is the age a face reads as, which often drifts from chronological age. FaceRating estimates it from skin texture, jawline definition and eye-area signals in your photo - and shows you which of those signals moved the number.

What this test measures

Your estimated face age

An AI-estimated perceived age, reported with the signals it was derived from so you can see what drove it.

What the same scan also measures

One scan returns all of these. You do not need a separate tool for each one.

  • Facial symmetry

How closely your left and right halves mirror each other, landmark by landmark.

  • Facial thirds

Where your hairline, nose and chin fall against three equal bands.

  • Golden ratio

How close your proportions track the constant phi (1.618).

  • Jaw taper

The width of your jaw measured against your cheekbones.

  • Eye spacing

The distance between your eye centres relative to face width.

Questions about this test

Is the face age estimate my real age?

No. It is a perceived-age estimate from a photo, and lighting, angle, expression and camera quality all shift it. Treat it as a rough read on how your face currently reads, not a medical or chronological figure.

Why does my face age differ from my actual age?

Perceived age is read from what is visible: skin texture, jawline definition, the eye area. Genetics, sun exposure, sleep, smoking and weight all move it independently of your actual age. A number well away from your real age is a signal about those factors, not a mistake.
